A Celebration of the Science and Work of

Jim Peebles and Dave Wilkinson

March 14-15, 2003

Dave, Gravity Group Picnic, June 1,
2002

Since Dave had retired, we began planning a celebration of the science and work of Jim Peebles and Dave Wilkinson in the summer of 2002. Sadly, as you all know, Dave passed away on September 5, 2002. We decided to go ahead with the celebration; we're sure Dave would have approved.

The Web announcement of the celebration is here and the program is here.

Below is a photo album of the celebration assembled from pictures taken with my camera, Jane's camera, and Bill Wickes' camera.

I apologize for the quality of some of the photos. I was really too far away for the flash to be effective and when I tried without the flash, the pictures sometimes came out a bit fuzzy!

Peebles Wilkinson Fest We asked people to stand if they had been undergraduates in the Gravity Group, GG graduate students, GG postdocs, GG faculty members, collaborators with the GG, and finally friends and colleagues of the Gravity Group. By that time everyone was standing and we drank a toast to Dave and Jim!
