I'm not sure what happened to this photo. In any case, this is Amol, Joakim, Susan, Robin and Lu getting ready at the start on Washington Road. The plan was to meet Chiara and family at Kingston.

Just before Kingston, we came across Jackson (physics grad student) with a neat sign! Thanks, Jackson!

We stopped to admire the Griggstown Lock. Here are Chiara, Susan and Robin.

 |
Lu studies something in the fence, Rafi and Ed are in the back, and Amol and Joakim look upstream.

The actual lock. In real life (close to a hundred years ago), there would have been working gates at both ends. Now the canal is used as an aqueduct to supply water to the central part of the state, so there's only a lift gate at one end (which as far as I can tell is never used!).

Everbody collects at Blackwells Mills where we turned around and rode back to Kingston for lunch.

 |
Rafi and Chiara wait for others before heading up route 27 to Good Time Charley's in Kingston where we had lunch. I forgot to take a picture at lunch, so this is the end. After lunch, there was just a little riding to do to get back to Washington Road where my van was parked.
